Healthy- Type 2 Diabetes How Often Do People Die

Healthy- Type 2 Diabetes How Often Do People Die Of Diabetes?

If this had been a column in the early part of the 20th century, with someone having written in with that very question, the answer most likely would have basically consisted of, most every time someone is diagnosed, if theyre lucky they have a few years.

Fortunately for all diabetics of the world, in 1920 a synthetic form of insulin was developed that could be used in humans, turning the tide dramatically. But of course, back in those days things were a little bit different, and not just in the up hill both ways kind of way. The world changed a lot back in 1920 at least for diabetic people, be they Type 1 or Type 2 diabetics. Of course, those changes havent stopped, either.

In this day and age, the pendulum of diabetes has swung a little away from Type 1, with Type 2 diabetes becoming more pervasive every year. While the early part of the 20th century saw most people being very thin because of small diets and heavy work loads, the early 21st century is witnessing an increasingly fat, listless population. While people with Type 1 diabetes have never had things better than they do now (with glucose monitors that fit in ones pocket, and the ability to easily inject insulin and eat extremely healthy foods), Type 2 diabetics are becoming something of an army. Sadly, unlike most armies, this one is fighting a war within its own body and losing.

Whilst Type 2 is not the diabetics fault, far too many Type 2 diabetics have unfortunately allowed their disease to progress due to short-sighted actions, which have caused their bodies to begin to rebel against them. By the time they can identify the problem, it may be too late to completely stop it. While lowering blood sugar levels and greatly modifying ones diet and exercise habits (such as actually instituting exercise as a habit), may be enough to halt the growth of problems, death due to complications such as heart disease may already be likely because of the condition. There are times a heart attack is when Type 2 diabetes is diagnosed!

As far as how many people die of Type 2 diabetes, the best way to find that out would involve some research on your part:

  • first, identify how many people are overweight or obese
  • then identify how many are confirmed to have Type 2 diabetes
  • next, do some research on the effects diabetes can have on a persons health
  • finally, tie it all together by looking up how many people die over a particular period because of these effects

When you know how many people die because of what Type 2 diabetes does to a body, then your question will be answered. Of course, unless the statistics have lightened a great deal recently, theyre pretty grim.

Your aim is to first lower your blood sugar levels, lose weight and your blood sugar levels will fall more. Then you may also find your medications can be stopped or greatly reduced and you will live.
