Healthy- Why Did the Cambridge Diet Get a Bad Rap?

Healthy- Why Did the Cambridge Diet Get a Bad Rap?

If you were thinking about the Cambridge Diet as a possible solution to your obesity problems, you need to slow down and make sure to give this a second thought. While the Cambridge Diet has been successful for many dieters in helping them to lose large amounts of weight, there are some potential drawbacks and hazards that need to be measured to make sure you know the possible risks involved before jumping in.

First of all, it is important to note that this diet was once very popular in the United States. This is no longer the case. While some interest has started back, the majority of dieters who follow this plan live in the United Kingdom. The Cambridge plan became very unpopular after there were some dieters who suffered severe side effects, and a couple even died of complications. Now in fairness, these people were not following the Cambridge Diet as it was meant to be followed, but another very low calorie diet which did not provide enough for them to sustain themselves.

All very low calorie diets at the time, including the Cambridge weight loss plan, all received a bad rap because of this. However this does bring up a legitimate second concern, which is that this particular diet does start off at an incredibly low level of daily calories. Even though these are all supposed to be from special supplements and shakes that come with this program, the low amount of total calories is still a concern.

Another reason this plan tends to get a bad rap is because theres suspicion when all the supplements come from the same company that promotes the diet plan. Consumers are wary of having to buy special products all from the same producer.

In addition to all these reasons, theres one more that rightfully gives some dieters pause: all dieters in the UK on the Cambridge Diet have to do so under medical supervision and are checked up on weekly to ensure that their health remains solid.

While the Cambridge Diet might be a viable option for some individuals, it is easy to see why so many dieters are wary of this particular weight loss plan.
